ANIMAL BITES

According to the National Canine Research Council, more than 4.5 million people are bitten by dogs each year across the U.S.. Texas and Houston are ranked as some of the worst areas for dog bites and fatal dog attacks in the nation, with Houston earning the 2018 title of the Dog Bite Capital of America from the U.S. Postal Service. In addition to dog bites, other domesticated animals such as cats, hamsters, horses, cows and birds often cause injuries that go unreported and unnoticed.

If you’ve been harmed by an animal, please give us a call. Texas laws hold owners of animals (whether domesticated or wild) liable for injuries they inflict. A dog bite is NOT required for recovery. If the owner’s negligent handling of the animal caused injury to a person, the owner may be held liable for any resulting damages. For example, a large dog runs up to you, startles you, and causes you to trip and fall backwards, hitting your head on a rock. If it’s proven that the owner was negligent in its handling of the dog, you may be entitled to recovery.

Regardless of the circumstances, if an animal causes you harm, please give us a call to discuss your way forward! We want to ensure you get the attention you deserve!
