CHEMICAL BURNS
The term “chemical burn” refers to tissue damage caused by contact with a chemical substance, resulting in injury to the skin or mucous membranes. Chemical burns can occur through direct contact with corrosive substances such as acids, alkalis, solvents or other hazardous chemicals. These burns can range from mild irritation to severe, life-threatening injuries. Below are a few instances where we’ll likely represent you in your claim for damages:
A factory worker is exposed to a caustic chemical during a mishap involving a leaking storage tank.
A consumer suffers chemical burns after using a household cleaning product that lacks adequate warnings or contains harmful ingredients.
A laboratory technician is exposed to a corrosive chemical while conducting an experiment without proper protective equipment.
A spill occurs in a workplace storage area, releasing a hazardous substance onto the floor where employees walk.
Construction workers are exposed to acidic concrete sealants without adequate protective clothing or ventilation.
A restaurant kitchen staff member is tasked with cleaning the grease trap using a highly caustic cleaning solution; spilling it on their body.

Preserving Your Chemical Burn Claim
If you become injured involving any chemicals, at no fault of your own, please do the following:
Get help. Call 911 and wait for emergency services to arrive.
Take pictures of the area. If possible, take photographs of the dangerous condition that led to your injury. The more photographs, the better. If you’re too injured to take pictures, ask a friend, family member, or witness to take some for you.
Gather witness information. Write down the names, addresses, and phone numbers of the other people who were present when the accident occurred.
Seek medical help. Ensure that you visit a doctor and obey their treatment suggestions.
Document everything. In addition to saving all bills, letters of correspondence, and reports surrounding your accident, write down what you remember as soon as possible while the memory is still fresh to ensure important details aren't lost.
